Ingo Maurer at Spazio Krizia, 2013

At Spazio Krizia, Via Manin 21, in Milan we exhibited lighting objects and special prototypes. Some of the novelties are now on display in our Munich showroom. From May 18, we present them in our New York showroom.

Spazio Kriza was open from Wednesday, April 10 till Sunday, April 14, from 11 am till 9 pm.
Opening party April 9, 2013 from 8 - 10 pm

Ingo Maurer also presented a model for an architectual project for Inhotim in Brazil.

Euroluce 2013, Milan

We presented various new models at Euroluce. A great trade fair, with lots of visitors on our stand, and a lot of positive feedback. Find images of the novelties here or visit our showrooms in Munich and New York.

Zak Zarak

The first samples of our new task lamp Zak Zarak will be available soon. The design by Lutz Pankow and Ingo Maurer was presented at light+building in Frankfurt a.M. in April 2012.

Aluminium composite, metal, plastic. 2 warm white LEDs with 6.5 watts each, 3000 K, 950 lm. Length/height max. 80 cm. Rotates at the base 360°. Lamp head swivels through 30°. Sensor switch in the lamp head. Complete with bulb and electronic ballast.

Lutz Pankow loves to deal with the technical aspects of design. He made Zak Zarak to radically change the appearance of desk lamps: instead of complicated mechanisms and lots of bits and pieces, a simple flat strip folded into a distinctive geometrical form. Magnets replace the springs and hooks of standard desk lamps.

My New Flame Black or Red

My New Flame is a distinctive table ‚candle’ that never burns down. The stunning combination of high-tech and poetic expression is an idea of Moritz Waldemeyer. At the upper end of a sleek black or red circuit board, a candle flame seems to flicker in the wind. Up close, you perceive a double-sided rectangular display made of 128 tiny LEDs per side, which renders the image of a burning flame.

Sophisticated programming of the LEDs and their warm colour temperature make the flame look astonishingly realistic. There are lots of ways to use My New Flame: on elaborately set tables,in living rooms, outdoors, and as night light for all those who prefer not to fall asleep in the dark.

In Milan and New York, the installation Candles in the Wind fascinated many of our visitors in spring 2012. The lighting object is made from 100 LED "candles". Each one has been programmed to produce an individual, smooth rhythm of movement. Candles in the Wind will soon be exhibited in our Munich showroom.

My New Flame has been released for sale end of October 2012. Also available in Red since beginning of December 2012.

Our websites

We have started preparations for the making of a new website. From 2013 we will be able to present more information on our product collection, our showrooms, distribution, light planning project, and other general information on Ingo Maurer and Ingo Maurer GmbH on the new website.

At the moment, you find news, the addresses of our two showrooms, our PDF files for download, press materials, on the more recent website. On the previous website you find information on a selection of products, images of important light planning projects, and addresses of our distributors etc. You can get there by clicking on the yellow bulb at the right end of the menu.

Da + Dort

Da+Dort combines the fantastic warm light of a paper shade with an ingenious mechanism made up of three pairs of strings that allows for placement of the lamp in countless positions. Da+Dort is a redesign of aTool by Christoph Matthias, first presented in 2003. An ultra flexible lighting solution, photographed here in our Munich project office. Now available!

Led's Oskar

Led's Oskar is the new LED version of our popular shelf lamp Oskar. Black anodised aluminium and the square lamp head create a new look; the warm white 5 watts LED (3000 K, 430 lm) lights up shelves in a pleasant and functional way. Not only for the bookshelf, Led's Oskar and Oskar, also work well on small desks and bedside tables.

Available from October 2012.

Looksoflat

Looksoflat, our long-awaited LED task lamp, is now available. Equipped with two LEDs, it combines the functionality of a task lamp with the witty reference to the classic Luxo lamp, reduced to a thin silhouette. Silver and Black. 2 LEDs, warmwhite, 3000 K, 950 lm, 12 w. The prototype was first presented at light + building in April 2010. Design Stefan Geisbauer.

Butterflies and dragonflies!

In 2011, Ingo Maurer presented two large bulbs with insects circling around them. The insects are hand-made models.

J.B. Schmetterling:

Large bulb, diametre approx. 20 cm, with white shade ring and eight insect models. The halogen bulb, socket B15d, is place in the middle of the bulb by a brass rod. For ceiling heights up to approx 300 cm, special length on request. Design: Ingo Maurer/Axel Schmid, 2011.

Johnny B. Butterfly:

Bulb with white Teflon shade ring and three insect models. Metal socket lacquered in white, grey textile cable (170 cm). Diametre of bulb approx. 10 cm. For ceiling heights up to 300 cm and 550 cm. Design: Ingo Maurer und Team, 2011.

17.01.2012 Interior Innovation Award, Best of Best

LED Wallpaper

Ingo Maurer's LED Wallpaper was selected as "Best of Best" among the winners of the Interior Innovation Award on Monday, January 16, 2012.

The LED Wallpaper comes in rolls of 320 cm x 60 cm, with five pattern repeats. Each pattern consists of 48 white, 60 blue and 60 red LEDs, a total of 840 LEDs with approx. 60 watts. A ballast and an aluminium baseboard are part of the LED Wallpaper set, produced by Architects Paper, Germany.

The unique combination of wall decoration and lighting is available in Green, Red and White. Time of delivery and custom-made versions starting with 15 rolls available on request.

A green and a black version of the LED Wallpaper are on display in Ingo Maurer's Munich showrooms.
